A Working Urban Farm
I have always wanted to do an urban homestead or farm. I just always assumed I didn’t have enough property to do so! Wow has this family showed me I was wrong.
With great planning and creativity, they have turned 1/10th of an acre into a working farm in an urban area. Not just enough to provide for their own family’s needs but to actually make a profit as well. I know our first thoughts when we think about selling our organic produce we tend to lean toward the idea and vision of a fruit or vegetable stand alongside the road. BTW I love coming across those stands!
But they have once again been thinking outside the box and have found their niche in the marketplace with restaurateurs who proudly buy locally produced foods for their establishments. These determined organized folks have managed to add livestock to their location as well, what is a farm without livestock? It truly is a mini farm in an urban location and quite impressive. Take a look at what they have done at the link below
