Why You Need A Camouflaged Edible Garden
Gardening is one of the first lines of defense against many SHTF events. If the event destroys your current year’s harvest, then you fall back to your stock pile and prepare your garden for the longer term shortages that follow every major disaster, natural or man made.
If you are currently a gardener, you know the satisfaction of those neat little rows of abundance in your garden. More than appearance we are assured of the plants space requirements and the lack of nutrient sucking weeds. But during a time of shortages, those neat rows are a neon arrow pointing to supplies. Almost every gardener can tell you a story of having their garden raided and the frustration that comes along with that offense. However, imagine if that which is considered a minor crime in today’s world were to take away the bulk of your ability to feed your family? No longer a nuisance but a major issue.
If you garden smart you don’t put all your food producing plants in the obvious place. You hide them among the landscape, those plants that the majority of scavengers won’t realize can be eaten. Most garden raids take place under the cover of darkness, and digging around the rose bushes looking for regular garden fare won’t be a priority to those skulking around looking for an easy grab.
Mixing those obvious edibles among those less obvious is a great way to camouflage your sustainable food sources. See the recommendations on doing so from Nexus Newsfeed at the featured link below
