What’s The Plan For Prison Inmates When The SHTF?
On our Facebook in the past we have lightly touched on this subject and how we would personally react to coming upon trapped inmates. For the most part they wouldn’t fare to well if that should happen because the bulk of us fear what they were capable of during normal times and we wonder what they might do if free during a time of lawlessness. But then it always comes back to the humanity of you and your group and the individual inmate and his or her crime.
So do prisons and the authorities have a SHTF plan in place for when a disaster hits? What has been done in the past? Would they fare better at the hands of their guards or will the guards abandon them to deal with their own families survival? These and other questions are discussed in our featured link below
What Happens to Prison Inmates When The SHTF
Update: What has happened during this pandemic?
Most of those convicted of petty non-violent charges who were near their release dates were quietly released. Those who were non-violent but had high profile cases found their sentences either finished under home arrest or were moved to less crowded less secure facilities. Prisons became hot spots across the country for two main reasons. First the conditions that prisoners are housed in is not conducive to social distancing nor preventative infectious hygiene practices and because when the initial prisoners were released due to the virus, many prisoners hoped to be among them if they themselves were infected, so they intentionally exposed themselves to the sick.
