I was almost disappointed when I first learned that there were vegetables that should be planted in the fall! I thought I was being the super urban homesteader by keeping up with a summer garden, a full time job, and 5 children! Now, I have to plant in the fall too!! Did this mean the canning season would truly never end!? But once retired and with the kids grown I was finally ready to begin a fall garden.
