The Pocket Chain Saw
The pocket chain saw is a repeat item on my gear wish list. Until this last season I had one I purchased several years ago. This last trip out into the woods, my daughter and grandchildren were using it to collect and cut kindling for the fire. After using it to cut branches off a fallen tree, my daughter returned it to the case and set it down to help the children load their arms with wood and forgot it. We were unable to locate it when we looked later.. 🙁
I liked it because it was so compact and easy to use for one or two people. Much safer for children than a normal saw and together they felt like super heroes one on each end sawing away to provide for the fire and the group. I choose the amazon version of this product because I preferred the strap grips which fit any size hand and I was able to adjust while pulling so I didn’t end up with blistered hands. Never mind that it came with the additional treats of a fire starter which works well and other misc goodies.
I got my first pocket saw at Amazon for $16.95 – SOS Gear Pocket Chainsaw (With strap pulls + fire starter) No matter where you get yours I do recommend it!
