The First Things a Prepper Should do
I grew up with a mother who is/was a prepper, she just didn’t know that is what it was called! She calls it just in case planning! LOL She is actually offended by the term prepper as she associates it with the doomsday dudes. So, I have been prepping ever since I can remember and have had several occasions that I was dang glad I did.
But if you are just starting off or have moved and your risk for a natural disaster in your new area are higher than before. It can become a daunting task! You want to do everything at once. You want to read everything you can get your hands on, and you tend to believe you can become 100% prepared for whatever comes your way…. if you only try harder, work faster, or spend more. In time you will learn that no one is an expert on every aspect of survival, and you aren’t likely to become one either. That Murphy’s law applies to prepping just like any other aspect of life. Do a little at a time, use dual purpose items, shop thrift and use your own common sense and instincts.
To help you get a start our friends at the Organic Prepper has put together a short list of first things first for beginning preppers and as a refresher to those who have been and are currently prepping. See it below
