Sterilizing Instruments In A Crisis Scenario
As I say over and over, there may come a time when you are the first responder or the only responder and everyone should prepare for that day to come. Whether it be a contained SHTF situation or a huge crisis scenario. You could be hiking, camping, on a picnic in the woods or whatever and someone becomes injured in such a way that medical assistance is needed right now.
We have all seen the television shows both for entertainment or in documentary form where the surgeon is scrubbing in and a sterile field being set up by the operating staff before the patient is operated on. Even under those conditions patients still can end up with a deadly infection. So in the field how does someone like you or I try to provide the cleanest and most sterile environment and instruments as possible?
