Small Game Recipes
Many home cooks and hunters already have a stock pile of small game recipes. But the majority of urban dwellers haven’t even thought of them. We talk about hunting small game like rabbits, hares, and squirrels after a disaster event. And picture ourselves eating them roasted over an open fire. All good if it’s for the short term. But using small game in actual recipes can not only make the food go further but make it more palatable as well. Especially if this is to be your long term source of protein. Variety will be important after the novelty of just being able to feed yourself wears off! Gathering at least a small collection recipes and instructions on how to prepare and use this meat is smart. The basics for preparing squirrel verses those for cooking raccoon are very different and can make the difference between barely chocking down your meal and enjoying it.
