School Terror Drills and Children Bugging Out
(2 featured links)
When I went to public school, it was one of the safest places a parent could have their child! Now it can be down right dangerous in some cases and in other cases traumatizing to your child. When my own children were in school I told them to do as they were told during drills and to do what I told them to do if it was the real thing. Now the child in some places and schools doesn’t know if it is real or a drill.
It may help school and emergency managers to effectively see what the reactions of staff and students would be in a real scenario but it can also put children and staff through a trauma that wasn’t even real was shown in one such drill in New Jersey written about in our first featured link below. These kinds of drills leave students and their parents with no options or information to consider in their own family emergency plan. Many will say “Well pull your kids out of school and home school” and honestly that just isn’t feasible for the majority of parents. If all parents quit their jobs to be at home to privately educate their children, the country would collapse from the draw on social services to support these families who would no longer be able to support themselves. Not every parent is educated enough to teach their children well enough for the child to be competitive in later life with those who received an education via certified teachers. I am sure there are dozens of other legitimate reasons parents can’t homeschool so that simply isn’t the answer.
How to prepare your child to bug out from school while still remaining within the regulations of allowed items at school is the real question. Your child could end up miles from where your emergency plan puts them in your bug out plan through no fault of their own. Preparing them to get to you or you to them is the answer. See how The Organic Prepper advises you to do that at our second featured link below
