Cast iron has been a favorite of cooks all over the world for years. Long before things such as Teflon coatings were ever even thought of.
They are a particular favorite of preppers and homesteaders because they can be used in the oven, on the stove top, and over a fire. They are now pretty pricey unless you are able to find one second hand or that hasn’t been used for awhile.
