Usually we think of chickens when we think of prepping with small animals. Chickens are duel use for both eggs and meat. But they do take longer to become usable than does the happy breeding rabbit. Bulk will be important when SHTF as your chickens will take awhile to build up to a self sustaining flock. Varity is also important when it comes to feeding your family and in crisis the less time you have to spend out hunting or trapping the better for the group.
