When to Quarantine and What to Prep
Unless you reside on the Moon you are aware that there were at least two deadly viruses that had spread across the world causing some concerns a couple of years ago. Ebola and EV-68D. Both are merciless illnesses that can be deadly. Neither should inspire panic or over reaction but neither should be ignored either. Basic caution should be used when outside your home. If exposed to either virus self monitoring is your best chance of getting to the appropriate medical care in time to possibly save your life. Even though at this time both of the mentioned viruses are currently contained… who knows when that might change or another might rear its ugly head?
So what can you do NOW to begin to prepare for any viral infections that might become pandemic? Our friends at Natural News have some ideas and opinions on that and you can read their list of 10 things they feel you should be prepping now before there is an outbreak. (it is based on ebola but can relate to any pandemic) see them right here >> Top ten things you need to do NOW to protect yourself from an uncontrolled Ebola outbreak
The question still remains however, when should you take that extra step isolating yourself and family from the general population. No one’s place of employment is going to OK your self quarantining at this point in time. So when should you blow them off and decide for yourself which is more important the job and your social life or your long term health? This is a situation where reacting too soon or too late could be a life changing decision! For some tips on what others think about the signs and indicators for self quarantining assuming you have not been exposed see the link here >> When Should I Go Into a Full Pandemic Lockdown Mode And Self Quarantine?
If you have been anywhere where you could have been exposed let your employer know and I have no doubt he/she will be quite willing to allow you to self monitor for symptoms at home! Now don’t everyone call in and claim exposure 🙂 self monitoring if you expect your employer to go for it, would have to be reported to the CDC and your doctor. But, don’t go get on a plane, bus, or train…. be responsible to those around you and keep the quarantine and take the appropriate steps to safely and accurately monitor your health. If each of us takes responsibility for insuring our fellow man isn’t exposed this will be over for all of us with fewer lost lives and fewer deathly ill people. Take the precautions you would want others to take around you and your family.
