Pros & Cons of Emergency Communication Devices
Like most of you, I worry about communicating with friends, loved ones and even first responders in an emergency scenario. But I can’t afford to purchase every single type of communication device out there!
Now my scanner does pick up weather radio so I have been able to combine two of the seven devices considered to be usable in an emergency. You may be able to combine more than one if it is cost effective to do so for you. You might also want to consider those you know you will want communication with in an emergency. If they are unable to hear your transmission or reply you may feel you have wasted your time and energy with the device you have.
You might also want to think about range. Where are the people you will want to reach out to? Many preppers myself included have a couple of methods to communicate in their possession. Which device is better for your purposes?
See some basic pros and cons for the devices themselves. The featured article doesn’t discuss the differences in makes or models or combined sources only the basic device itself. Check it out and see if one or more will serve you well.
