Preserving Eggs W/Mineral Oil – Does it Work?
(3 links)
Preserving eggs is a big deal to those with chickens and other laying fowl. They work hard to ensure their birds are healthy and laying regularly. At this time, we can powder our own eggs for storage with a dehydrator. See How at this link >> MIY Powdered Eggs
Unlike other foods we dehydrate I do not recommend that you powder eggs without power. They spoil before they can properly air dry. So, if you are completely off grid by choice or by circumstance how do you preserve eggs for later use? Mineral oil! See how at this link
How to Preserve Eggs With Mineral Oil
One bad thing about trying the methods and tips sites like ours provide you with is that you have to try it to find out if it works and sometimes the original poster will leave out a small step that they didn’t realize or think was important and our attempt to imitate their success fails. Then we are out the product we tested. However in this case, the original poster has done the testing of her procedure for us! She saved two cartons of eggs. One she used the method she detailed in the link above to preserve the eggs with mineral oil. The other carton she left untreated. See her results at this link! Many Thanks to Jamie for doing the research for us!
