Prepping for Seniors
I hear much too often from seniors that in a terrible SHTF scenario their back up plan to hunkering down is to stay behind. They express the fear that they will slow down the group lowering their chances of getting out in time. Some of the plans I have been privy to include hiding in place and praying they are passed by, by what ever the group is running from to sitting in wait armed to the teeth intending to slow whom ever may be after their group. There hopes being to slow down the crisis allowing additional time for escape by those they care for. Neither of these plans are acceptable to me and to others who care for, are elderly or are planning for a group that includes seniors. I tend to subscribe to the “No man left behind” intent of the solder’s creed “I will never leave a fallen comrade”. Someone courageous enough to volunteer to be left behind is someone who definitely has value to the group!
