Is Prepping a Form of Activism?
I had never thought about prepping activities being a form of activism until seeing the featured blog from Backdoor Survival. I have been called an activist and I suppose in my own way I am, because I actively encourage others to prepare to be self-reliant. It is my personal belief that the more of us that survive the better off we all will be. But the actual process of prepping equaling activism never occurred to me.
When I think of an activist, I see them as someone very visible in the community who is attempting to make a change in the way things are done or thought about in today’s society. Preppers however, attempt to remain grey and unnoticed in their communities and live a life style that is a return to a self-sustaining life or simply are insuring their quality of life regardless of any SHTF event.
Does our community qualify as activists because we do tend to have a belief in recycling, reusing, and sustaining natural resources? These are issues dealt with by activists as well.
