Prepping Carry Ons Approved By TSA
The price of airline tickets has become outrageous. Hopefully the current decrease in fuel costs will eventually trickle down to a lower ticket prices. We used to be able to check a couple of bags to make our travels easier without additional charges. Now checking a bag is almost a luxury! So we all try to cram what we will need while we are on our trip in our carry ons that will fit in the over head storage or under our seat. It would also be nice if we can meet the size requirements without back breaking weight to carry through the airport itself as well!
These restrictions combined with additional security that has become necessary due to the enemies of freedom and our desire to travel safely adds to the difficulties of carry on baggage. Our preps are even more important to us when we are going to be away from our main supplies and gear, and possibly in an unknown area. We can fairly accurately decide what we will need for the primary purpose of our trip, but what if there is an emergency either while in flight, at the airport, or after reaching our destination. How do we meet those size, weight, and security restrictions and still be prepared for whatever comes our way?
How to Survive it has come up with a list of 20 prepping items you can get into your carry on and be prepared and still meet the TSA‘s rules. Especially if you are planning a trip anytime in the near future (before rules change again!) check out this list and be as prepared as you can be while still traveling safely.
UPDATE: I have flown since this listing from Organic Prepper was published and the rules have changed. No scissors are allowed anymore BUT heavy duty toe nail clippers (those shaped similar to a scissor) are and they are capable of cutting more than your nails. Lighters bic nor any other brand are allowed, however match books are.
