Many people feel that preparedness is an expression of fear of crisis events and that pages and sites like this one are fear mongering. Factually nothing could be further from the truth. Humans tend to be more scared of the unknown than anything else, If we know what, when, and where we tend to be less fearful.

No one can fully accurately predict a disaster and as hard as we try to control it, everyone’s future is unknown. There are some facts we do know. We know the storms and natural disasters will come. They have for centuries and as advanced as mankind has become we can not control nature nor its collisions with our environment. Knowing what to do for different disaster scenarios eases the fear of the unknown. Knowing that we are as prepared for whatever may come our way eliminates some of the what ifs in life that we all experience.

See the featured article below for more information for taking the fear out of preparedness.
