In “normal” times this trick should ONLY be used on your own property! If you have forgotten the combination or lost the key this can save you the cost of a locksmith.
. In a long term emergency scenario is when knowing how to open these locks could be a literal life saver. If you are in a scavenging situation getting to supplies is imperative to survive. But as always remember even in a long term SHTF situation, only take what you must and leave the rest for the next survivor! Waste not want not and remember they were left for a survival purpose and take only what you must showing respect for the prepper who left them behind.
