What Do You Need in Your Emergency Dental Kit?
If the SHTF tomorrow I would be in deep trouble with my teeth! I happen to be in progress of having them removed for replacement for dentures. Soft foods are easily available to me in today’s world. I doubt that would be true of a post SHTF world.
This got me thinking about dental issues should there be a sudden event. Many of my team are either old enough to soon be looking at the possibility of dentures for themselves, in their later teen years when wisdom teeth often become serious problems and there are some younger children now in my group whose dental health is still unknown.
What would I need to deal with these problems if dental care isn’t available? I have had dental pain. It is like no other pain! Without some kind of treatment the affected person would be in agony for who knows how long? If you have ever tried to concentrate with a bad tooth ache you know it is almost impossible to do. If the tooth is abscessed it could become a deadly problem. Add sleepless painful nights which could include the affected person moaning or crying out in his or her restless sleep keeping other members of the group awake as well as possibly giving away your location if you are in hiding. That makes it everyone’s problem!
So what can I put in my emergency dental kit to cope with these problems and ease the individual’s pain and protect their health? Our friends at Urban Survival Site have come up with a list of 15 items they believe are necessary to make that kit worthwhile. See them at the featured link below
