MIY De-Icer & Ice Preventative

I don’t live in an area where there is a lot of snow or ice anymore. But I did grow up in such an area. So I do know how much time can be spent scrapping and chipping away at the ice on your vehicle windows. Under those conditions anything that helps is welcome!

De-icer is expensive and it doesn’t come in large enough containers in my opinion. I always run out half way through my vehicle. So I decided to try the MIY (make it yourself) products. Now where I am currently located the ice doesn’t become 2 inches thick, it gets just thick enough on the windows to be a pain to remove.

The recipes in this Instructable are the ones I used and they work! Do make sure to adequately label the bottles because they do look identical when ready. See the recipes at the link below and save your time for better things than chipping away at an icy windshield!
