Some of my neighbors I am sure think I must be terribly lazy when it comes to my lawn as I don’t rid it of dandelions. But then when they see my kids out there harvesting them, they are curious as to why I would choose to send them out to cut them rather than to use weed killer or are absolutely sure I am intentionally growing them for harvest!

Neither of course is true. I am simply making the best of what nature has provided me. My father used to pay myself and my siblings a penny per dandelion we would harvest for him to make wine with. Now I don’ t have to pay my own kids for the dandelion harvest because they love the Dandelion Jelly    (you can find the recipe by clicking on the link!)  and now I will be able to offer dandelion bread as well!
