Medical Uses and Benefits of Peppermint Oil
Peppermint flavoring is used so often in sweet treats that it’s easy to forget that in fact it is an herb. One of my favorites in that regard is peppermint hot cocoa. Particularly appropriate for cold winter nights in front of a fire. Especially that I now know the additional benefits that are even more helpful in cold weather.
Its flavor is strong enough that it is often used to mask the taste of medicines. You might find that tidbit helpful when trying to entice a child into swallowing an herbal or even a pharmaceutical medication. Like most herbs and some spices it can do more than flavor your food and drink.
It has unique medical properties all its own. Never replace your doctor’s advice with a home remedy. Always insure that using a herbal remedy won’t interfere with nor interact negatively with a medication that you have been prescribed.
