Masks VS Respirators in any Epidemic
It’s a whole new world for most of us in North America we’ve not experienced anything like this outbreak before. Many of us are unsure of how concerned we should be about PPE outside the desperate needs of our health care workers who are dealing with the infected on a daily basis.
So should we be wearing masks or respirators while outside our homes during this pandemic? Would doing so help us “flatten the curve” of illness in our communities? Based upon the numbers of infected in countries with a mask wearing culture vs our own countries where we are unaccustomed to wearing them the answer to those questions may well be yes.
So which type of protection is best? How safe are masks in comparison to respirators? See answers regarding those questions from The Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the featured link below

**Remember this virus is not a “normal” flu and it’s particles are believed to be smaller. So the only true protection is to avoid contact, and if you must have contact to wear hospital grade PPE.
