In a recent featured article we talked about the possibility of the United States launching a first strike cyber attack against Russia. Whether that speculated attack occurs or not. It did get me and I hope others of you thinking about the consequences of a cyber warfare on our countries and individual lives. When you stop and think about it. Our daily lives are impacted by computers and software hundreds of ways multiple times a day. When you turn the key on your vehicle a computer responds, the local grocery market uses SKU‘s and electronic registers. Almost every purchase you make involves swiping your bank card even if just to get the cash from your account to pay cash. Your payroll is done on computers. You flip a light switch, run your microwave or fill a glass with water. Somewhere along the line a computer has made that possible.

I imagine the next time we the public will be notified of any progress in this arena will be after the conclusion of the Russian probe which indicates we don’t have to be hacked to cause turmoil in our country. Makes you wonder if they actually attacked just how bad would the results be and how much was truthfully learned in this virtual wargame that we aren’t being told?
