Inexpensive Overlooked Life Saving Prep

One of the most overlooked preps is one of the least expensive! Disaster scenarios include electrical problems, arson, kitchen accidents, wild fires, lightning strikes and even an EMP can cause a fire. So many lost lives and tons of property damage could be avoided with a simple inexpensive prep. A fire extinguisher.
Particularly in a disaster like an EMP where your electronics are disabled. Everyone’s electrical wiring is burning, and communications are down having a couple of simple fire extinguishers would be the only hope for saving any of your property and perhaps your life. Fire and rescue can only be in so many places at one time. Even then only if they know you need assistance. No communications means no way to tell first responders where they are needed. In this particular scenario so many would need fire fighters that there simply wouldn’t be enough to go around.
In a grid down situation a lot of us will be relying on fire. This only increases the chances of an accident. For household emergencies most homeowners have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and in the laundry area near the dryer both high fire prone rooms but there is more to consider from a prepping point of view.
