Refilling Disposable Propane Bottles

Because this is flammable gas and under pressure, please be warned that this is dangerous and explosive, please read the  Disclaimer page on both sites, before trying this.   Then if you decide to try it please, please do so with caution and using the appropriate tools in an appropriate location and only if you must. Saving a few dollars is not worth any injury! However under SHTF conditions it may be the only way to carry fuel with you or divide fuel between groups. Use common sense and extra ordinary care.  I actually, recommend that you don’t do this.  After reading the article and instructions, I personally prefer to simply purchase the smaller container. But as many of you when I first heard they could be refilled I had to check it out! 🙂 In times of crisis we may have to do things that under ordinary circumstances we wouldn’t. It may also be illegal in some locations.So unless you must have smaller containers to carry or share and have no other option, I wouldn’t take the risk.

So if it’s dangerous why tell you about it? Because I would rather you have some kind of appropriate instruction on something you may never need to attempt then to be in a situation where it’s necessary and not know how! Better to be informed on the process than to have someone trying to do it without the knowledge and you know of course someone will. Maybe having read this you will (as I have) purchase the smaller containers to begin with so if the need to have it in smaller easier to carry containers or must share what you have, will be easier and not so risky. If I came upon this on the web, chances are you would too; so I hope you will take my introduction of the tutorial for caution into consideration rather than coming upon it and thinking it would be a money saver and not realize how truly injurious it could be to you or those in close proximity.
