Hide it & Fool the Smartest Thief
I know, I know, now that it has been published it’s no longer a secret! But almost all of us have our own private little hide away spot in our living quarters. It may as well be a good one! But if you really think about it, no successful thief is going to take the time to look beyond the usual hiding spots. Under the mattress or in your under garment drawer isn’t going to thwart a burglar.
If an burglar has entered your home with the intent of burglarizing you he/she wants to get in and out quickly and without notice. They don’t have time to search each and every unconventional nook and cranny. They are looking for the items that bring them the most cash the fastest. The smaller and easier to carry out undetected the better. To be successful they need to find these items quickly and get back out again undetected.
If an undesired person has entered your home and takes the time and effort necessary to locate your best thought out hiding spot. Then you have a situation that is more serious than a burglary.
If they feel they have all the time it would take to search your home thoroughly. More than likely they know you are going to be gone for a longer period of time and that no one is likely to be coming into the home for several hours or longer. Possibly they know what they are searching for, some single item or group of items in particular. Having a particular item in mind can speed up their search by size, storage requirements, and value of said items. Or even worse, they aren’t concerned that there is someone in the home or soon will be as they are perfectly willing to harm you or anyone else they find there or that stumbles upon them. These issues should addressed by other security measures.
So if you just want to make your security a little tighter, make your valuables less likely to be found or even keep your housemates out of your stuff. Then go ahead and check out these 20 neat hiding spots. There are some that are really clever from The Family Handy Man at the featured link below
