What Would Happen to the Earth After a Nuclear War?
This is a touchy subject. Many people don’t believe any of us would survive a nuclear war of any size. I personally disagree with that assessment. I feel there are always survivors. Whether it Is by the grace of God or a miracle, if you are a believer or simply a statistical equation some how a few always survive. If any of us knew for sure, we would feel safer and have a little more faith in the leaders of all the countries in our world today. Their diplomacy and their own desire to survive is what stands between us and that tragedy. I speak only for myself when I say “Each of us in our own way needs to insure our leaders know that this is not and never will be an acceptable option for resolving the issues between us.”
Unfortunately we have seen the localized impact of contained accidents and warfare of this type. I doubt many of us would disagree that it would be a disaster beyond our scope of true understanding. There are even those among us who would rather not survive such an event. It is an event that I hope none of us nor the generations that come after us will ever have to deal with first hand.
If you or any of us survive and are able to begin the rebuilding process, where would we be starting from? How would the earth change? If we survived the war, would rebuilding a livable environment be possible? How long would it take for any reasonable quality of life to be created for and by those survivors? Francie Deip writing for Popular Science informs us about a study done by scientists on this subject based upon computer models predicting what would happen to the earth and it’s people after such a war.
