Food Storage – The 1st 20 Items
Every pantry and every prepper’s food storage begins somewhere! You should always store what you and your family eats and eat in rotation what you have stored. There are items that unless you are preparing you probably don’t have sitting in your pantry. Like water… why store water when you can just turn the tap and presto there it is drinkable water. That you have a tap to turn means you have already prepared in a small way for the water you use each day, otherwise why dig the well or pay the water bill?
Because you know you are going to need it and want it to be there when you do. Now if you have a gallon per person per day for even just a few days in your storage area or pantry you have carried your preps to the next step. Preparing for the day when you turn the tap and for whatever reason the water isn’t there or isn’t drinkable. We have seen a lot of instances when that has become the case for many people in the United States when water supplies became contaminated. Not nearly enough people were prepared for it and the price was heavy for them and their families as they scrambled for safe water. That is just one of the items that the beginning prepper should start with. There are at least 20 basic items that everyone should have in stock and at the ready for those kinds of scenarios.
Even if you are a seasoned prepper, check out this list and see if your on the same track as many mainstream preppers and if you’re a beginner, this list will give you a starting point.
