One of the most important parts of prepping or homesteading is sustainability.

You can save and store a huge number of supplies only to have them wiped out in a disaster, taken from you by marauders or confiscated and eventually no matter how much you store you can and will run out. Food storage is important now as sustainability if you live in an urban area or just aren’t self-sufficient yet, you need a starting cache to get you through the immediate scenario and until you get your sustainability cycle going.
