Make an Emergency Communication Plan With Your Loved Ones
One of the most frustrating parts of a localized disaster or a SHTF event that doesn’t directly involve you is not being able to contact friends, family or other loved ones to either tell them you are alright or to find out if they are alright. Until you are sitting next to the phone unable to take your eyes off the television screen as you search among the faces for your loved one, you may not realize how important an emergency communication plan is.
I have found myself in this scenario more times than anyone should. I can’t imagine the number of people who found themselves in that same position after the massacres in Orlando, Paris, Dallas or Turkey recently. I recall watching on television someone I know being removed from a roof top in New Orleans after Katrina and immediately called his local family to let them know what I had seen and assuring them he was alive. It was the first news they had received about their loved one. You don’t realize how many people do care about you until you are in an area with a disaster and your normal communications are cut off. They worry, pace, don’t sleep and fear the worst. Who can forget those heart wrenching calls made from the twin towers on 911? Don’t put yourself or those you love in that position. Set up an emergency communication plan with your loved ones now, today while all are safe and well! Continue at the featured link from My Family Survival Plan link below to learn about doing so.
