No wants to think they will need the group medic during a disaster scenario or after a major SHTF. No one wants to or plans to be hurt, especially if there isn’t access to our regular medical care providers.
Not every group has their own professional doctor or EMT on board. But every group will need an effective medic. No matter how cautious the group is someone is going to be hurt, was ill prior to the event or will become ill post event. People will be preforming daily tasks that they aren’t accustom to doing on a daily basis, there will be after affects of the cause of the disaster whether manmade or natural and normal hygiene routines will be interrupted. All facts that can lead to the need of a medic’s attention.
