DIY Tin Can Trail Alarm
Although as the featured article states there are more modern methods of alerting oneself that your encampment is being approached, in a SHTF event they might not be available to you!
One of the bad things about our trash is that it takes years upon years to decompose tin can materials, this means long after the factories have stopped producing them there will still be cans to be found. Your trip wire itself can be made from just about anything you have as far as cordage or something that you weave together from the materials around you.
Everyone must sleep sometime, no one sees as well in the dark as they do in the light, and no one wants unwanted visitors to be unannounced so this is a good DIY alert system to learn for whenever you wouldn’t want to be surprised by an outsider’s approach even if you’re just camping!
