DIY Faraday Cages
What are faraday cages? Why would you need one? What electronics can it protect? How would you build one and can you improvise one? There are a number of different ideas on the subject,
Less about the effects of the EMP or even the cause because in today’s political arena we are all too aware that an EMP is a distinct possibility. The technology has been around to create one for many years and the possibility of a natural cause is as old as time. Eventually like it or not man made or natural there will most likely come a time when the grid becomes disabled.
We in America have already seen that technological warfare is a distinct possibility since the North Korean Hackers waged a war against Sony Pictures. If technology is being used by one country to control the business decisions of a company in another country… it’s not so farfetched to wonder how long before something a lot more serious than a movie is attacked via the disruption of technology?
If like myself and many other preppers you choose to have double protection, you can purchase faraday bags that fit individual pieces of equipment. I have done that and then placed the sealed faraday bags into a larger DIY faraday container to not only get dual protection but keep those items safer from other disasters like floods and quakes etc. and together when needed. My own bags are an older model which is much harder to seal but now you can purchase them with zip lock type seals. This allows you to update things like your kindle etc. and easily return it to the bag and container.
