Coupon or Bargain Stockpiles Aren’t Emergency Food Storage

The featured article is from our friends at Backdoor Survival and it draws the line between coupon or bargain sales stockpiling and real emergency
food storage. In most respects I agree.
I find for myself and in the area of the world I live in, that
coupons are not a great deal for us. There aren’t enough stores competing for our business to allow for double coupons etc.. and usually I can purchase the off or
store brand of the same item for less than the big name brand with the coupon. Most coupons are for non food items or junk food items.
However, I do think that bargain hunting if done correctly can indeed be storage for an emergency with
canned goods and canned meats like tuna. They speak against boxed meals as well. If you’re poverty prepping against shortages or job loss etc… you already know that pasta flavored with the box mix even without the meat is better than plain pasta and that these meals tell you to add hamburger, tuna, or chicken, but can be made without the protein product. This wouldn’t be a healthy choice over a long period of time but might keep you going until you are able to obtain better.
So see what Backdoor Survival has to say on the subject and their ideas for better
food storage items and then use your own common sense and lifestyle to decide for yourself what you think you will need in an emergency scenario.
