Concrete Home Survives Wildfires and Building Info
(2 links)
If you live anywhere where wildfires are an issue, you are well aware of the danger and property damage they cause. This year the fires have been particularly bad in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. To date just in the state of Washington where this home is located we have lost the lives of 3 firefighters trapped by the swift moving infernos.
The story linked below is about the concrete home pictured above that not only survived the flames but protected and surely saved the life of the occupant who was caught in the structure while trying to ensure his property did not become a casualty. I and other residents of areas where these fires are a common occurrence would advise you to NEVER ignore a fire marshal’s order to evacuate. These fires move incredibly fast and are well known to jump even moderate sized bodies of water. The gent in this case was trying to remove personal property from the land when his property became engulfed. The survival of both he and the home is amazing.
