Often called winter’s silent killer. Carbon monoxide can occur anytime the space you’re in isn’t properly vented and there are dangerous fumes. Most often in the winter as that is when the majority of home dwellers are trying to keep the heat in and the cold out. But there are other scenarios in which carbon monoxide can be a danger, if you’re sealing up your home during a volcanic eruption or for a nuclear accident/attack.

The symptoms you need to be aware of are

  • headache
  • dizziness
  • nausea
  • convulsions
  • unconsciousness
