Basic Guide For Winter Fishing
Other than staying warm in winter weather, finding food in a survival off grid scenario would be one of the biggest challenges for the survivalist. Like people animals slow down and move on to warmer climates if they can when the snow falls and the temperature drops. This is why the majority of our ancestors made sure the root cellar and the larder were full for the winter in during the fall.
Many folks don’t realize that fish also tend to migrate to warmer climates and although they don’t actually hibernate, they do eat less in the winter months than they do during the warmer months. But they do eat, so they are still drawn to your bait and fishing is still an option for the determined fisherman.
