Avoid Being Scammed
With every new security measure to block scammers comes a new scam! It used to be that they couldn’t pick your pocket without being in your location. Now they can sit facelessly across the country or even across the world from you and still either rob you blind or at the least cause you headaches and heartache to get rid of them.
This particularly true for the older population whose internet savvy is a generation older. Young adults and teens are also particularly attractive to the perpetrators of such crimes. We all know the old adage of if it is too good to be true it probably is, but some don’t realize it can be too bad to be believed to! Thousands of people fell into an income tax scam believing the IRS was after them.
So how do you #1 prevent becoming a victim and #2 what do you do about it if you become one? Knowledge and awareness are the first line of defense in preventing you or someone you know from being scammed! Featured below is a link that not only gives you a listing of scams currently in use but can lead you to sites to report and find assistance after the fact.
