We all know the basics of a first aid kit. Bandages, antiseptics, etc.. but in a total SHTF scenario a first aid kit becomes a first responders kit because you are the first and perhaps only responder to the scene.
What then becomes a necessity changes, you must be prepared for more serious injuries and medical problems than you would be if help were on the way. Your traditional first aid kit will suffice in your medicine cabinet and the trunk of your car, however, in your BOB or hunker down supplies the items in the survival medical kit should be expanded to cover more dire scenarios.
