Using a Shemagh

What the heck is a shemagh and as most of us don’t live in the desert why would we need or use one? It isn’t a religious item! The shemagh (pronounced Shmog) is a traditional head wrap used in many middle eastern countries. Not just part of the culture however, but part of their long term survival from constant sun and dust exposure.
So if we don’t live in a desert climate how can they be of use to us? More ways than can be listed or are listed in the featured articles! Women have known the advantages of scarves for centuries for sun protection, warmth (especially around the neck where wind chills creep down your back) and moisture protection (keeping your head dry is more than vanity). These days they are standard military issue for many countries and they have a ton of survival uses.
To make proper use of them the first thing you need to know is how to tie one.
