Build a Wilderness Fire Bed
Maintaining a survivable body temperature is imperative while in the wilderness. Hypothermia is more likely to do you in than any wild animal and will do so faster than even lack of water will.
Especially helpful if you don’t have shelter in avoiding hypothermia is a fire bed. It works even better if you are able to put up a shelter over the top of it. With a shelter over the top you gain the warmth along with a way to contain the warmth and protect yourself from the elements at the same time.
It can take a try or two to get the temperature at a comfortable level and as with anything that involves fire extreme caution is important.
