20 Pioneer Westward Bound Recipes
You might see the pioneer westward bound push almost like a bug out of sorts. They headed off into the wilderness with hopes of finding safe haven and a more prosperous future at the end of their journey. The modern conveniences of today were not available to them nor could they be for your trek in search of a safe haven in a crisis scenario. The threats of marauders, looters, bandits, and the attacks of the native peoples were real dangers. I believe the dangers of a true bug out would be more severe in today’s world but many of the survival tactics could be the same.
Bugging out or a pioneer heading west both must fuel their bodies if they are to have any hope of making it to safety. What did these historic folks eat while on the trail? No microwaves in gas stations along the route, no fast food joints and not a grocer for thousands of miles. These could become your reality too.
