Risk Analysis Index
How likely is a particular risk to hit you, your family, or community? True Prepper has put together a risk analysis index based upon the FBI Crime Database, EM-DAT International Database, NOAA Environmental Information Database, International Journal of Disaster Risk Science, RAND Corporation, and First hand DOD Emergency Management Experience. creating a mathematical algorithm. They do an excellent job of describing how to read and understand it.
I would love it if everyone. especially non-preppers, would take a look at this index. Because the highest ranked, therefor most likely disasters to befall any and all of us are the ones I notice don’t garner much attention. Not in the media and not even on prepper sites. I realize focusing on some of these most likely scenarios isn’t as exciting or shocking as the lower risk scenarios. I see the numbers on this site as to which articles are the best received and quite often they aren’t the ones that should be! The ones that we feel could save more lives! But the more frightening the scenario the more fear it entices and then often better received. We do present articles on these subjects as well, but in hopes that the information will never be needed!
I don’t think this is due to fear mongering, more a feeling of control among the readers. Some of these possibilities are what I always call “the stuff that happens to those people or other people and not people like us… until it does!” You are more likely to become “one of those people” than to be caught in TEOTWAWKI. Check out the risk analysis and see just what it is that should be your first priorities! It’s linked below
